Laird met with Veterans prior to the Rock the Troops event to take them surfing, share tips but most importantly just to spend time talking with them about what surfing means to them and how it has helped them transition out of the military.
Laird shared his own passion for surfing and why he believes surfing is such a great way for vets to stay fit and healthy as well as a great chance to bond not only with other vets but other surfers. He spent time with pro active veteran Thomas Counihan IV who has been saved by surfing and is leading the charge to get other veterans into action sports. Laird was honored to introduce Tommy at the main event.
